The True Meaning of Easter

The true meaning of Easter is often lost in the excitement of chocolate bunnies and egg hunts. But let’s get real for a minute, Easter is about Jesus.

Don’t get me wrong, I love all of the commercialized Easter fun. I get caught up in the anticipation of seeing my kids’ faces when they find their Easter baskets on Sunday morning. My heart swells up when I see their faces, determined to capture as many eggs as possible in the few minutes it takes for an Easter egg hunt to finish. Coloring eggs is a generational family tradition. And there is nothing wrong with celebrating Easter in any or all of the aforementioned ways. But as a Christian, I cannot forget Easter is about Jesus.

In order to properly recognize the sacrifice that Jesus made so long ago for me (and for you), I like to share this Easter jelly bean poem to remind others of what this holiday really means to me. It is a simple gesture that includes a sweet treat and an even sweeter reminder that salvation is within our grasp, because the price was fully paid for us so long ago.

I hope you will enjoy this FREE printable and share it with others this Easter holiday.
