Go Planet! It’s Your Earth Day – 5 Ways to Help Reduce Waste

#Earth Day SVGs #Make Every Day Earth Day #Be the change

Earth Day is officially celebrated in April, but really shouldn’t every day be Earth Day? I think so.

It really isn’t difficult to make small changes that over time will have a big impact. At our house, we try to do our part each day to make our corner of the world a little cleaner, a little brighter, and a little better.

In order to celebrate this year, I created some new SVG cut files and made t-shirts for myself and my kids. Maybe our humble little shirts will remind others to think about taking care of our planet every day, too!

If you want to make your own Earth Day shirts, signs, hats, grocery bags, etc., click the link below to access the FREE SVG file.

For some unknown reason, my hubby is never too excited to wear my t-shirt designs. (I guess he’s too cool. Or maybe he’s not cool enough.) You, however, are definitely cool enough to sport an awesome Earth Day t-shirt. Or, maybe your kiddos need one to show their support for the planet. If you want to make your own Earth Day shirts, signs, hats, grocery bags, etc., click the link below to access the FREE SVG file. (You can purchase other SVG cut files in my Etsy shop Andie K Design.)

If you are really interested in making a difference on this planet (beside wearing a cool t-shirt) there are numerous ways you can make Earth a better place. Below is a list of
5 ways to help reduce waste. Doing one or all of the items on the list will not only help the planet, it will save you money in the long run! You will also be setting a great example for your kids.

Teach your little ones now and they will continue to be good stewards of this place for the rest of their lives.

  1. Stop buying paper products (except for toilet paper, unless you’re totally committed!) – Make your own cloth napkins, eat off of real plates, buy microfiber cleaning cloths, etc. I love these cloths from NORWEX. You don’t even need to use any cleaning solution to clean your glass. A little water on the cloth and those tiny fingerprints (or nose prints, lip prints, etc.) are gone like magic.
  2. Make reusable grocery bags out of old t-shirts. You can even add a “Make Every Day Earth Day” logo with heat transfer vinyl.
  3. Buy or make BEESWAX WRAPS to cover leftovers instead of using plastic wrap.
  4. Get a really good water filter and stop buying bottled water. I LOVE MY BERKEY! Don’t let the price dissuade you. It seems like a lot up front, but it will pay for itself in no time. And you can rest assured your family is only drinking safe, high quality water.
  5. Recycle! Stop throwing away your empty cans and bottles and break down cardboard boxes for the recycle bin. If the waste management company where you live doesn’t pick up recycling, look for the nearest recycling center and take it there yourself. You will be amazed at how much you reduce your garbage output when you start separating recyclable materials.

There you have it! Five easy ways to reduce waste on Earth Day and every day. Try out an SVG design, cut back on paper products, or make some reusable shopping bags. I hope you will implement at least one of the ideas listed in this article and help Make Every Day Earth Day!

Hey, there! I can’t wait to share more homesteading, family, and design ideas with you!

Working on it…
Yay! You did it!
